Michelle Rivas is currently a senior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism studying journalism and mass communication with a minor in exercise and wellness. Michelle interns at Arizona Public Service in the health and wellness department planning and promoting their corporate wellness program. She also freelances for Latina Magazine writing about health and exercise and has a Latina health blog.

When she’s not finding healthy recipes on Pinterest or studying for the GRE exam, you can find her running around Phoenix desperately trying to prepare for her first half-marathon in October in San Francisco, California.

At Arizona State, Michelle has studied kinesiology, exercise and wellness and journalism and hopes to combine all three by pursuing a master’s degree in health communication next year.

On a personal level, Michelle hopes to inspire healthy lifestyle behaviors and believes exercise and wellness to be essential to eliminating disease and increasing quality of life. As an advocate for accessible health information for all, she aspires to communicate competent health information for every culture, age and lifestyle.
